Electricity In Our Homes
Electricity In Our Homes, one of the most talked about and influential acts in London, will bring their fierce originality and unique pop charm to The Lock Tavern as it celebrates 10 years of the best free entry nights in London. With a recent single out on Tim Burgess' O Genesis label, their debut album is out now on Fierce Panda.
Stephen Hudson
Stephen Hudson is coming all the way from Lancaster to play his literate heart-on-sleeve pop songs about dog-walking and trashy magazines. He began recording these songs above the music shop where he works Saturdays, and released the handmade piano-shaped single Tallulah? on Lancaster label Barnbox. We think it's great.
Daniel Johnston, the Lemonheads and Neil Young are influences and he has recently supported our friends Stealing Sheep as well as Guillemots, Racehorses and Badly Drawn Boy.
Brothers Rasputin
The Dapper Brothers Rasputin will be bringing their experimental soul surf sounds to Idle Fret where they'll be debuting new music from their forthcoming EP.
One Eyed Wayne
Hornsey's finest, One Eyed Wayne, play melodica, mandolin, harmonica and acoustic guitars to knock out a brilliantly ramshackle foot tapping soundtrack to dark tales of serial killers, pyromaniacs, losers, boozers and small time bruisers. They love The Clash!
Male Bonding DJ Set
Kevin Hendrick, bassist and vocalist from Subpop signings Male Bonding will be bringing some of his favourite records all the way down from Dalston for us. Whatever he plays, it will definitely be very good!
Blak Magik Society DJ Set
Daniel Towler from Blak Magik Society will be playing a load of records too and if he's bringing anything like what he plays on the excellent Full Moon Radio shows that the band do, you will be very spoiled indeed. Captain Beefheart, Public Enemy, Big Star, PiL and The Last Poets should all get an airing.
