Dream Life album launch party.
Psych soul Chanteuse Mary Epworth‘s music calls to mind the lushness of Holland era Beach Boys, the plugged in folk of Fairport Convention and the heavy fuzz of Flower Travellin’ Band. Mary’s harpsichord, synth and harmony laden debut album Dream Life is now finished and is out March 2012 and the single Black Doe has just been record of the week on Shaun Keaveny's breakfast show on BBC 6 Music.
Black Doe also brings to mind what might have happened if Led Zeppelin had ditched Robert Plant and asked Sandy Denny to front the band in the aftermath of their otherworldly collaboration The Battle of Evermore - The Sunday Times
Black Doe fuses a surging riff worthy of Black Sabbath to wonky banjo and breathy vocals about encountering a deer in the forest. It’s as mesmerising as it is unnerving - The Guardian

Liverpool's Ratty Little Fingers make vivacious upbeat folky country pop with their violin and banjo melodies, a box for a bass drum, a chocolate tin for a snare and full size double bass...and then there's their costumes to look forward to, a cat, a flying squirrel and a raccoon! They join us at Idle Fret after recent shows on a ferry in a tropical palm house, a shop window and an art gallery...

After releasing two EP's which have earned them national radio airplay on BBC 6 Music and playing shows at the Underage Festival Turning, Big Chill festival, Ronnie Scott's, Rough Trade East and The Roundhouse, Hella Better Dancer bring their delicate serene folky shoegaze sound to The Lock Tavern.

Naomi Ryder -
Textile designer and illustrator Naomi Ryder utilises embroidery, drawing-with-stitch and print to create delicate and beautiful contemporary images of ordinary life, she has also immortalized Thurston Moore and Cat Power in her own inimitable style.
With recent exhibitions at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Canary Wharf, Naomi's commissions include the Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, Domino Records, Habitat and a great poster for Idle Fret!
